A story of human nature that happened at the turn of the century in the northern mountainous region of Guizhou Province, China.At the turn of the century in northern mountainous area of Guizhou Province, Mr. Yu, a quarry owner was looking for a rural woman who named Wheat, intended to inform her that her husband Bean was injured in the quarry and became a plant man. Yu planned to spend money to settle the matter with her, but after seeing Wheat, he could not help being attracted by this stubborn and special woman. Thereupon, a tangle of lies and true love that is full of suspense and emotional entanglement occurred among Yu, Wheat, and Yu’s ex Blue. The film shows the shock and pain that China modernization brought to common Chinese, as if a fable that epitomizes the transition of China society from traditional to modern.
