Tarun Jain
Tarun Jain is an independent filmmaker based in Delhi, India. His first short film “Aakhir - At Last” which was a thriller travelled to about 40+ international film festivals. It won a “Gold Remi Award” at the 47th Worldfest, Houston, Texas, USA amongst others and was distributed for the TV in the USA and EMEA territories. His 2nd short film 'Amma Meri' (Mother) is based on the backdrop of agrarian crisis in Haryana, where the protagonist's consciousness is challenged when he begins to see his mother's death as a way to unchain his burdens. The film was in the International competition at Tampere Film Festival and IFFI Goa and has released on youtube by a leading short film channel. He has recently finished his new film, Kaala, which is based on the attacks on Africans in Delhi NCR. The film was possible because of the successful crowdfunding campaign. He is now working on a new short film on discrimination against people from north east region in Delhi and is developing a feature film script.
