Mpho Tau

My name is Mpho Emmanuel Tau and I’m a filmmaker from Bloemfontein in the Free State. My journey into the art space began in primary school with acting through to high school and finally enrolling with Nemisa to study Film and Television Production in 2013. Since 2014 to date I have freelanced on various TV projects i.e. Isidingo, Each one Tech One, iSpani, The Voice (SA, Angola and Nigeria), Big Brother Extremo, Mabhandi and Close Up (Ad). Roles I occupied on these projects include studio and camera assistant, camera operator and co-director. May 2019, I completed another training in Film and Television Production with Big Fish School of Digital Filmmaking, which soon after I worked on an international drama series called The Professionals as VT trainee and Dream (The Lebo Mathosa Story) as camera assistant. Between 2018 and 2019 I produced and directed five short films namely; “Enough (experimental film), Yet to know me (Web series), Purpose, Black Pride and lastly Beautiful in my skin (documentary)”
