Mmoni Moabi is been involved with the arts since she was 14 doing traditional dance, singing and acting. She went to study performing arts at what is now known as Durban University of technology after matriculating, and got nominated for best directing for her final year theatre piece project. She worked as a full time theatre practitioner from 2007 for the north- west arts after she graduated. She then proceeded to do freelance TV acting, educational theatre in the year 2000. In 2002 she worked for Love- Life where she travelled around South Africa using art to teach sex education. She started working as script co-ordinator /continuity person in 2004, the love for directing and storytelling got reignited. She is a continuity person for successful TV production, working alongside good South African directors. That’s where she learned and drew inspiration until 2017 when she was offered her first co-directing gig.
