Lea Sharples
During her participation in her school plays from 2013, she was nominated as best supporting actress in the ATKV national play finals. She completes a year of BsCH studies at the University of Pretoria in subjects including: Spanish, French, Archeology, Anthropology and History, where she was appointed as best History student in her year. Furthermore, she was also invited to join the Golden Key society. Besides her current completion of her BA Motion Picture Medium studies at AFDA in Directing and Writing, she is also involved in theatre work. In 2017, her self-written and co-directed play performed in the ArtsCape theatre as one of the ATKV top 10 high school plays in South Africa and Namibia. This play also won the Reza de Wet festival where she was appointed as best young writer. In 2017, she also performed in a self-written play, Polka, which received a nomination at the Kopanong Student’s Art festival. Currently she is the director of another original high school play in production and acts on a freelance basis as a playwright. She is very passionate about young people in the arts and furthering her language through creative content.
