Mishqah Parthiephal started her career in the film industry in 2010, as an actress. Her love for film is infinite and profound and started at a young age. Throughout the years Mishqah has worked with industry heavy weights like Darrell Roodt, Ramadan Suleman and Jayan Moodley. After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from the University of KwaZulu Natal. Mishqah set her sights on Johannesburg. Within two years of moving to Johannesburg, the young talent has established herself as a force to be reckoned with. In 2019, she was selected as a candidate to part-take in Female Filmmakers Initiative facilitated by Zinc Pictures in conjunction with The National Film and Video Foundation and The KwaZulu Natal film commission. Mishqah is a promising filmmaker with the ambition to tell stories of previously disadvantaged women. She hopes to challenge and change the ideas and stereotypes surrounding Islam and women.
