Better Cinema Through Collaboration
The RapidLion Vision
Our vision is to add to the rich heritage of world cinema by uncovering new talent and growing it through fostered collaboration with established filmmakers. It is important for us to establish a clear and consistent understanding of who we are, setting down those unique and defining qualities that shape our identity in the minds of our stakeholders. It is important that we work to shape stakeholder’s perceptions to ensure that they are positive and what we want them to be. All our communications should reflect the fact that we are a universe-class film festival with a great future ahead of us. Our brand model is built around who we are, what we do, why we do it and what we want to achieve by doing it. Our vision and values form the foundation of our brand model. The brand attributes are the core RapidLionfacets that, in combination, make the film festival distinctive and compelling. They are the building blocks that introduce and describe the festival as a whole before more focused messages are created for each specific target audience.
Our personality traits reflect who we are. They will come across in our interactions with others because our brand is more than simply the stories that we tell: it’s also the way we tell them. It is our attitude and personality as an international event. Ultimately, our brand essence captures our attributes and personality as concisely as possible.
The true RapidLion character can be articulated using a combination of the following:
-
Our love for film
-
Our belief in collaboration as a catalyst for improvement
-
Our desire to make the world a better place through cinema
Our love of film has shown us that if moviemakers from different walks of life are put together in the right environment, they will create better cinema.
RapidLion: Better cinema through collaboration.
Aspects will afford cinema lovers, filmmakers, and other film industry players such as distributors, the opportunity to rub shoulders, share ideas, teach and learn from each other. RapidLion 2016 will feature Distributor Aspect under this section for talks around the challenges African films and films from emerging markets face regarding international distribution. Festival visitors are encouraged to click on RapidLion Moments and post their pictures from the festival.
[This needs another story - this is not a story, but a mission/ambition... The "will" (future) is weird, since it is already happening]
